Beware of this beautiful lady!

Belladonna, the deadly night shade.

The beautiful plant you are seeing on the top is a poisonous plant too!
It was first grown widely in ancient India!

If you want to taste their black berries, I have to warn you!
Even though they are sweet, a little while after tasting them you would lose your voice, your body would be jerking uncontrollably and your pupils would dilate wildly wide and your dried mouth would spill out all the filthy words in the oxford dictionary of slangs!!

Few berries would carry you to a dream world and few more will carry you out of this world straight to the heaven!

Bella Donna means 'beautiful lady' in Italy.

The Italian ladies used them in olden days, they would put few drops of this plant's juice into their eyes, so the pupils would get dilated, which was considered sexy those days, some used to smear the juice on their skins to make it more pale!

(Do you find it sexy... the wide pupil?)

Even though they are poisonous they are one of the best medicinal plants. The drug 'atropine' is produced from this plant, which serves as an antidote to the pesticide poisons used in suicides,(which had become more common nowadays in Indian farmers, with monsoon failing or exceeding their limits continuously, spelling a bad cast on their lively hood)!
